CNC Milling Process
Precision CNC milling is the high speed milling process of machining physical objects from 2d to 3d solid files. The process of CNC milling is a 2-step process.
Tool Paths - First Step of CNC Milling
The first step is creating tool paths, the process of translating a paper print, 2D, or 3D computer model into a series of 'paths' for the CNC mill tool to follow as it removes material.
Machining - Second Step of CNC Milling
The second step of the CNC milling process is the actual machining, which involves translating the toolpaths into commands to direct head of the milling machine to move in the X, Y and Z directions, as well as rotating the part for full 4th axis milling.
